Now, from here, rather than introducing official information, I would like to write as frankly as possible about what I have actually felt after having attended Levels 1 to 3 so far, as a reflection for myself.
The system and content of each course is constantly being improved and updated, and the instructors who actually run the courses vary greatly, so I hope you will understand that what I am about to write here is just my own experience as a participant.
I hope that this article will encourage more people to take the Coach Courses.
Motivations for attending the FIVB Coach Course
As I recall, I first heard about the FIVB Coach Course about seven years ago now. At the time, I was working as a high school teacher and setting up a volleyball club for primary and junior high school students, managing and coaching the club. We were still newlyweds, and my wife and I often talked about our future plans. And We were in agreement that we wanted to live abroad one day, and that I wanted to coach volleyball as a career. However, I don’t think we were that serious about it at first, as it was a very vague idea. But I remember that we were both excited about it at the time.

But as we continued talking, our future plans became more and more concrete. And then, ‘How can I get a coaching job abroad when I have no coaching experience and no track record?’ One solution I came up with was to take the FIVB Coach Course and get a licsnce.
Until then, I didn’t even know it existed. I remember that it was around January 2018 that I clearly recognized the existence of FIVB Coach Course and decided to get a license. I then resigned from teaching in March 2018 and moved my base of activities to Berlin in April 2018, but due to family circumstances I had to return home suddenly after about only one month. Then I resumed volleyball coaching in Hokkaido by chance.
